@Keychat is pretty cool, I like the UX, nostr and ecash based
Of course it's impossible to get people off of telegram (spyware) so it's probably pointless

Nah. I hate being on telegram and have been waiting for something like this.
Dope 👏
I think generally speaking people like Telegram because it’s programmable. You can have bots to warn for scams and other stuff.
Its amazing how easy it is to download an app but yes getting people off telegram or WhatsApp is a very hard task. Only works for the closest 1-3 people in your lifey besides that its impossible and you get looked at as a weirdo 😂
Have you tried @0xchat yet? I've had some success with it as a nostr based Telegram replacement.
Haven't; downloading now
Feel free to DM to test and check out their git to learn about how it's transmitting your messages

Of course it's impossible to get people of Twitter (spyware) so it's probably pointless
I just installed 0xchat a few days ago, but I can't find my communities created in satellite.earth or my public chat created in Amethyst.
Their Api is crap. Like discord.
It's slick
Thanks for testing.
This time, we have ecash sat and Lightning Network sat as our weapons, so this is not a war we are destined to lose.
I have literally 100% of my family and friends and coworkers on Signal (I'm based in Germany and Singapore).
So it can been done!!! I guess my friends suck then 😂😂😂. I got my two closest friends and family on signal. The rest won't budge.
Thx for installing and trying out the app. Currently, we do not support communities. For public channels, we use the latest NIP-51 list standard, which might not have been used in Amethyst? @Vitor Pamplona
However, you can search for your channel by using the channel ID in the discovery-channel.
Signal is taking off in Utah. Many people joining.
Whatsapp never caught on here.
It is indeed quite challenging.
But ecash sat and LN sat give Keychat superpowers that other chat app do not have, allowing it to provide services that other chat app cannot achieve.
We are still in development.
What people also fail to realize is, you’re not just asking those few people to come on board, you’re asking all of their followers as well. And depending on how many followers they have, that may be asking too much.
This is more likely to happen in Europe, for a couple reasons.
1) Over 50% of Americans use an iPhone (I’m one of them), getting them to switch to a third party app that doesn’t offer anything over iMessage, is a big ask.
2)America is one country, obviously. And as such, are governed by the same federal laws throughout. Europe, being made up of many smaller countries, all with different federal regulations, makes switching to an app that is self governing, the smart choice.
Agreed.
