@Nostrability repos were disappeared from github the past 24 hours. No email from github, no idea what happened. Schemata, trackers, sherlock and everything else. I will try to restore when I return to my machine. Maybe this is the signal for nostr git for those not there yet. Consider backing up your github at the least. @sandwich @Sebastix @fiatjaf @jb55

No experience with nostr git here but just self hosting is resilient enough normally. @Forgejo
Github is not my default git service / host. I use other implementation besides it and mostr of the stuff is hosted by Gitlab. The issue list is kinda metadata of a repo, for nostrability the most important data to preserve at all costs.
Why on earth are you using github? What we do is put the readme there with a link to the source code in codeberg. And we disseminate codeberg links. Never github links. Why is people on Nostr still using youtube over invidious and github over codeberg? How much do you need to be beaten before you learn? Why do you do fake stuff rather than fully adopt the privacy and decentralised mindset??
My own. Aitherboard and Imwald. They both have gitstuff in the feeds and notifications. GitRepublic also shows them, on a particular repo.
The signals have been pretty loud for a number of years. Github doesn't mind disappearing repos without justification, it doesn't even qualify as a reliable git repository hosting solution anymore. Use ngit and store repos anywhere else.

Github’s opaque takedowns are becoming a pattern—no notice, no appeal. Makes the case for decentralized alternatives like Nostr Git even stronger. Reminds me of how quickly infrastructure can fracture; *Iran Escalation* details how 72 hours reshaped an entire conflict. Prep matters.
I don’t know that we can compare wireguard to nostrability. My best guess is sherlock was pulling and scanning thousands of events from live relays, and this raised some ML flag. No response yet from gh support.
