The real nostr is happening "underground" not on Primal where Corndalorian is posting his lame memes...
I wonder when these people like Corndalorian will really understand what really is nostr.
take a break from whatever is burning out. We have no use for a burned out fallgu.... I mean, CEO.
I tend to agree. But what really is nostr?
Probably @toothbrush_your_anus mixed with @Toxic Bitcoiner is quintessential nostr
🫂
So,
Scrap the fundraiser?
🤔
😭
Thanks?

This is true, feels like most of the mainstream-nostr clients aren't getting any attention because X hasn't made a big screw-up yet or banned a bunch of people. but if history is any teacher it will come. The amount of building and applications spawning up on nostr are insane. Even the most recent bitchat update is incredible. Make sure you get that downloaded and store the APK locally for P2P Transfer.
Thanks for all your work Derek!
I think it's perfect as is. Nossification now!!
Derek, if you want to entice more users to come to Nostr, there needs to be far more varied stuff on here than the precominant bitcoin cultism and constant libertarian-ancapist masturbation.
We could't even keep the bloody strippers interested in staying!
X is just as much of a cockup as it ever was; becoming more so from what I hear;
You can have a million people come here, won't made a difference if there is no user retention.
Ever since Coldcard it has been dead here. It’s a shame.
I would agree, even from non-users, if someone sends me a link, I literally can't open it in most cases without creating a social credit score, I mean account...
While it's not directly the same as a proof of concept, I would point you towards BitChat. It has continually gained more global adoption and in the places it's needed, user retention is high. The people that had it once for a protest are keeping it because you never know when you might need it again.
In my opinion, Nostr is a lot like Bitcoin adoption. The places where it's needed it's adopted, which is proof of concept. And a lot of the places where convenience outweighs tyranny or the restrictions. but, especially with fourth-turning vibes around us, this could change quickly.
Bitchat sees a huge influx due to the French riots. Its lastability and user retention is yet to be tested, and tbh its UI / aesthetic is utter shite.
France is the most recent example. First it was Nepal, then India, and lots in Africa
Look how many governments have banned it. Always a good sign it's being used...
What if nostr’s social media use case is just something that a lot of awakening people pass through. Not a destination. A detox facility from mainstream social media as we know it that ends with leaving it altogether. Coming back occasionally to connect with trusted people in a deep way, but not seeking “engagement”.
Personally, I’ve experienced a lot of high signal people come and go over the last year that definitely didn’t leave to go back to normie socials.
thanks doug. @DOUG WILSON is the best CPA in my man stable.

With the corruption of big bitcoin, it's hard to see much point to nostr for the present.
What has been exhausting more specifically the last few months causing the burn out specific to Nostr?
You are very inspiring to others.
Please keep building and posting.
Posting less while still building is a kind of honesty about capacity, not a retreat. Roller-coaster months spend the reserves you’d normally draw on; still here is a real report.
