All babies start out interested in real food, grabbing at whatever you're eating, gnawing on anything you'll give them; meat, eggs, even liver. It's only after you spoil (ruin) them with the little sugary crunchies that they start turning up their nose at real food.

I only have an N of 2 but can attest to your first point. Don’t give them sugary processed options for the first few years at least and they will develop a taste for real whole foods. Though I will add that this should include a diverse diet of whole veggies and fruits, and whole meats, eggs, and yogurt, unless you want a constipated child who can only enjoy meat. Only things our eldest doesn’t like are mushrooms and egg yolk (except in sometimes scrambled eggs), despite initially liking those foods. Probably because we haven’t tried to reintroduce them frequently enough. Oh that’s the other point I’d make: it takes repetition. Every kid will say “I don’t like that” to any number of foods you know they have enjoyed eating. This doesn’t mean what you think it does. It really just translates to “I don’t want to eat that in this moment.” If you make a big deal about it you will solidify that dislike. Instead, just acknowledge the statement and put it on their plate anyway. Much of the time they will forget their dislike by the end of the meal and gobble it up anyway.
