I think i can work out the print if you can get the file together. I need gears. 1ΒΎ" diameter 30 teeth 3/16" thickness 5/16" center hole Teeth just need to work with one another. We aren't trying to match anything existing. Are we talking the file type that would be compatible with a 3D printer, like plug and play style? That I can absolutely work with. And I would absolutely compensate your time.
If you want to give it a shot, by all means. I don't know how fine a point your printer can work, but it's gonna be pretty fine when it gets to the teeth
I have been wrestling with this idea for more than a decade and of the dozen people I've tried to talk to in the last couple days, you're the first to nut up and help me. I feel like you deserve more than that. And if this works, I will personally see to it that you have it.
I love it! My guy, the odds of what I'm saying actually happening, the odds of this motor I'm playing with working are slim to none. Do not get excited yet. But if this works, fuck the truck. You're going to need to buy more printers. And don't think I've forgotten. If you get me those gears, i will not leave you hanging whether it works or not. But I'm not gonna lie, I'm on edge right now. This idea hit me in like 2012. How to do it came to me the other day, for whatever reason, and i can't stand it I'm so excited to do this.
Already talked to my younger teen boy about we might need to start printing some gears if we can hammer out all the settings and it works for you. For now, just considering it as an interesting project that I may be able to help someone with. 😊
I hear the irons issue. My books keep judging me for not reading them, my reps have dwindled, I've got so many circuit boards to pick apart so i can get all my scrap broken down before i move in with my gf. The good news is she's becoming more excited at the prospect of being a mom, something she had no intentions to do before we met. The bad news is all of my other interests will pretty much be out the window when we take that step πŸ˜† I can't thank you enough for considering it. And forgive me if it seems like I'm putting pressure on you to do this. By all means, do what you need to. I've waited 12 years. I can wait however long it takes. All the more time i have to get ready. I've still got to get the bases ready and figure out a way to angle the magnets. I didn't want to add complexity to the gear design and finding someone to put together a file that was ready to print was time consuming enough. If the prototype does what i think is possible, we can tweak it again when we're ready for that.
