FYI I like bitcoin being used daily, especially the way it allows for zaps, but also it’ll still be totally fine if it isn’t

Yeah that has been my gripe with bitcoin. I cannot let it become the thing it was supposed to destroy.
DON'T judge a book by it cover. We appreciate that homeless looking here.

He only owns one tshirt.
Random thought. The best thing I like about him is that he follows OMAD diet, meditation. His vices as a rich guy are not so bad.
What does he mean by "fail"? As a currency, indeed if it's not used it will fail. But as a store of value, if people trust in it, it will not fail.
I think the advantage of #opensource in general is time. Opensource projects do not try to win through breakthrough innovation and marketing. They win through consistancy and minimizing of failure. When all other options fail in certain usecases consistantly, the critical mass is eventually met. So I summarize: Opensource grows slow since no one gets external incentives to use it. But when the application has unbeatable advantages, people change eventually when they realize the advantage.
