I'm on day 6 of a planned 7 day fast.
I've kept strictly to water, electrolytes, and coffee.
There are a number of physical benefits from fasting but the one item I don't often see mentioned is the ability to say "no. Especially to yourself.
It seems that if you can turn down food, in the face of hunger, even with the amazing scents of meals being prepared around you, you can turn down pretty much anything else. It feels like self-control has gone through the roof.
Is this just because I'm in the "clarity and focus" portion of the fast? I don't know. I probably wouldn't have said this in days 1 to 3.
But right now, at this moment, I feel like I have more self-control than pretty much ever.
I hope it remains once I add food back to the routine.
It might be the reason to start planning future fasts - to keep myself grounded and under control (of myself).
We'll see.

I've only done a fast for a couple days at a time. When you do your 7 day fast, do you adjust your exercise routine? I do quite a bit of outdoor work on the homestead, and most days also a dedicated stretch/strength training routine. I may be way off on how i'm thinking about this though, but you seem pretty knowledgable about it.
Not all that knowledgeable. I've been doing single day fast for a while but this is my first extended fast. All new to me.
I've read some that say exercise is still very good, either strength or cardio. On the side of caution, I haven't done any strength training this week, just long walks with the family to get some sun. May keep the schedule normal next time.
Thanks for sharing your experience😊
