Let's orange pill supermarkets. When you can buy food and everyday things with btc, it's a lot easier to offer as payment between people and eventually unbank yourself. No KYC required at PoS, yet.
Supermarkets need low friction payments, high throughput. Need bitcoin integration at PoS or payment terminal level. Preferably NFC.
Most payment terminals in Finnish supermarkets are Verifone. They announced BitPay integration in 2021, but haven't heard anything since. Is it actually available and deployed somewhere?

What happened to Strike and Jacks NCR collab announcement from years back?
I think the communities that benefit most are those that have high concentration of bitcoiners who are willing to part with sats. Easier for places to accept bitcoin if they can expect people paying with it.

If existing PoS / payment terminals added btc option and merchant got paid in bitcoin, I think many would accept. Potential new customers and lower fees than credit cards, not much downside.
Currently some merchants use e.g.
and get paid in fiat but it requires a separate payment terminal and is always a bit of hassle, not great for supermarkets.

Bitpay has been useless for many years now, since payment requires kyc
What if we strive for the individual to be their own supermarket? 🤔
probably easiest to start with small privately owned places.
as much as i kind of hate to say it, the Square terminal is probably going to be the catalyst that makes this feasible.
the lack of PoS integration is always going to be the friction for a business owner; a hurdle that doesn't seem worth jumping if they're not already oranqe pilled.
No 1000 bitcoin bounty this time? 😅
BitPay is a KYC shit hole.
Adoption was much more advanced and had momentum in 2013 than today where companies behave as enforcement arms of statists.
If at all I am seeking Monero adoption. Everything else outside of it and LN when it works non-custodially is a payment shitcoin.
That just means we are starting to reverse the capitalisation process.
This mistake will be made over and over again.
It's NOT adoption if merchants use a third pary service that later will fuck you over in the name of the statists that pressure them.
Decentralisation between those who know that freedom is not to have without PoW.
If Bitcoiners really cared they would buy small supermarkets and set their own rules, one by one.
We have fiat mind buggled Bitcoin billionaires that can not separate with even a few Bitcoin tobreshape the economic landscape so we rely on evangelism that has already maxed out long ago.
People who get onboarded today buy KYC IOU ETF BTC by BlackRock, who love to spend (more) fiat.
Small supermarkets can easily serve white, grey and black markets.
That's why thy get squeezed out the most. Time to reverse the trend. Running a small supermarket is a revolutionary act.
There's a building for sale down the street for me that I've half-joked about buying to open a grocery store (and would accept bitcoin, of course). If only I were one of those Bitcoin billionaires you talk about, i'd have already done it.
I'm starting small with @Whitepaper Books ...
So now that you're aware you can buy books with bitcoin, I trust you'll never visit Amazon ever again, right?
I have some knowledge, but seems my DMs hardly reach you :-/

It would be amazing 😀
Yes, but I'd love to see grass roots adoption between producers (e.g. farmers) and consumers. Supermarkets are less prone to understand the bitcoin concepts and they perceive it as another payment network
