Considering a small drone operation just obliterated like 70% of Russia’s bomber fleet… it seems like everyone is about to wake up to this all at once. Will be interesting to see what is/can be done about it. Might be a better tactic, but I feel small, Intercept drones are the best short term option. The videos published though suggest that there was literally no defense or preparations made against a short range drone attack. nevent1qqs99gvqn2rpvv59hyv8p4r00f0nejls4lvvn9hw8qcwutdvvw3m2yqrt23r3

That’s what’s wrong with trump’s plan of getting the new age fighter plane named after his presidency. It may not have a place in warfare anymore. The #drone attack was brutal.
Stuart Russell (Mr AI for more than 30 years). Is a naive individual. As Edward Teller opined WRT the fusion bomb we have to have the technology or prove it can’t exist. Teller knew treaties are worthless Ask Molotov how valuable the anti-aggression treaty with Ribbentrop was? (Hint it’s not worth the paper it’s written on) Other examples, Ukraine de-Nuclearization treaty, led to war and death, because of an idiot like Dr Russell. There are NO TREATIES, Laws, or Geneva Conventions that can protect us from this. You are on your own. Enjoy!
Have you seen the drone light shows? With good software one person can control thousands of drones.

I seen a valid counter a few months ago. Truck mounted microwave beams. since you can’t jam fiber optic ones. They just melt them. Claymores have always been a tough thing to counter drones just the claymores wings.
I cant edit. it sounds like 70% of their entire military but as I understand it this was an attack against a particular location/area and they hit or eliminated 70% of their targets. No idea the reality of it is of what it means the bigger context. I saw another estimate $7B of damage.

"70% of it's bomber fleet" Firstly, no. These are outdated decommissioned bombers who were literally just being stored in the open. The real bombers are in hangers. Secondly, these are still part of the nuclear triad, even if "decommissioned", they still are Russia's nuclear fleet. So as much as this is all fun and games, attacking the nuclear capacity of a country allows a green light for nuclear defence. I'm not going to be shocked of parts of Ukraine see inhabitantable by the end of the week.

In one of the first episodes of Blueprint for Armageddon (WW1) Hardcore Histories host Dan Carlin described how nation states used to go to war and often only had a few battles. Once one sides main fighting army was knocked out, the other would surrender with appropriate terms etc. Industrialisation marked the end of this. I now wonder will drone swarms end the total war footing states put their citizens on. "My drone swarms have disabled all your drone swarms. Here are my terms for "peace". Otherwise I'll fly my drones into your population centres." Chilling thought, but it may end the current endless wars. Of course with no human toll, or relatively little, would governments just debase their currencies even more to keep producing drones, even when hopeless, devastating their people anyway.

It is rather incredible. Sneaking drones and shipping containers to the air bases. No doubt Russia will hide the truth, but we've seen the footage.

Probably just evolve into drones fighting drones. Next step defense drones, autonomous small high speed when they get close they shoot confetti strings.

It would be MAD on an individual level, since they’re so cheap
If humanity was going to be exterminated by AI (although I find this very unlikely) I think there's nothing we could fear more than a swarm of drones just by hearing the sound and seeing what these can do in the Russian/Ukrainian war. Absolute madness. View quoted note →
The issue is what's going to be the return for drone suppliers. Poke lion and I suspect you will be eaten. Australia supplies drone will Melbourne be a nuke target? Or a intercontinental bunker busters? Or will it be a political capital like London ?
