It turns out that being bullish isn't enough. High quality apps are needed for user adoption.

I feel the same. I think we've all finally realized Nostr sucks and no one is coming, really. We built all this giant piece of something that turns out no one really understands or cares, not even most Nostr developers.

Is that why you gaslit me and muted me for saying we need spam filtering for hashtags, and then later you said hashtags can only work on paper? View quoted note →

hey man. I decided to open Primal and I saw this reply. Primal doesn't follow my mute list on Amethyst. so yes, the tools do work quite well, depending on the client. as long as I continue to use Amethyst, I'll continue to never see your notes. as I said yesterday, the tools we have do work quite well. I was wrong in implying that they work on all clients though. some implement mutes differently. sorry for the confusion there.

Not high quality but rather ease of use and mobile first. I know that's easier to say then do. Also people apparently love centralization so we need other stuff to keep users keys and waiting for the worse to happen 😆

And simplicity… which is not simple to achieve. The more techie jargon you include and convoluted sign in process, the bigger the entrance barrier for the average Joe.
his NDK sucks i literally had to stop using it and building my own sockets setup from scratch mid project
It also needs to solve a problem. When it's normalized that you're arrested for saying "wrong" things on social media, nostr has solved a problem. When people want to earn money on social media, but their platform has too many restrictions, you can't post urls or you can't access your money, nostr has solved a problem. In the meantime tools are improved including onboarding to nostr, lightning and ecash.
