i am learning that i am not that fond of nostr
i thought it would be different & i’m learning that it isn’t any different
social media is social media no matter how it promoted & redressed as something better than the rest
that is the note
bye ✌️

Very true
It seems to come and go, I'll take a break for a day or so sometimes. Trolls are gonna troll no matter where you go, I just ignore them.
I like the no algorithm bit, I see what I want to see and I'm not force fed things. (I avoid global like the plague) I've found a few good people here to chat back and forth with, and it's been good fun.
Don't let haters get you down
i don’t mind the haters. where i came from, i was hated for the color of my skin
everything else, especially online, is child’s play
i’m happy you found that corner here
the reason for my departure is that i have not found a good & worthy reason to stick around as much as i already have
You are lucky. It takes being rejected by a group to develop your own identity.
I'll be sad to see you go. I love seeing all your photos and your humor. Definitely do what's best for you!!
you wont find what you dont bring.
I think it's all about finding your people and engaging with them. Ignore the trolls, block whoever annoys you, do your own thing
It is your choice and you are free to.
No company here to force you to stay or play on your sensible feeling for that.
It seems you got followers that liked your interactions here, so it means you give them some value.
Perhaps you didn't get enough value back, or expected a dreamland.
But nostr is no more no less than what users are making of it.
It's a pity your unique color will miss on this paint.
Hope you will find what you are looking for, anyway.
You get what you ask for. There are a lot of ways to nostr. If you don't like what you see, change what you bring. This goes for everything in life, not just "social media".
i wasn’t trying to find anything or a reason to stay. social media is not important to me & that time has come to fully know i have zero need for it
the simple reason is that i have no need for it. not for entertainment or engagement or whatever else is there that people continue to use it
I see I see
it is as simple as i have no need for it or reason to use it in the same way many do and continue to
Are you considering giving up all forms of social media? For most its a distraction to escape out reality I think. I feel like it would be healthy for me to let go off all of it potentially.
thats not what i meant. 🙂
i was reflecting times when i have not found what i was looking for, not realizing it wasnt there because i hadn’t brought it.
this is my only social media. i have found no added value for participating in it. not to say there aren’t any great & interesting people here, because there are. in the end it’s not important. i can think of better things to do & use of my time
I don't think you should leave nostr as a whole. Leaving the social media clients... go for it. I can heavily support that. But, plenty of other things are being built. Have you checked out the numerous projects that the @GitCitadel team has been working on?
Youre just following too many people. If you can't read everything that everyone you follow has said in the last 24 hours within 20-30 minutes it's too many. If you find yourself uninterested in what someone is posting a lot of the time, in follow post haste. You'll have a much better time.
Of course real life has more to offer, this is not supposed to replace that in any way.
Sorry to see you go. Hope our interaction didn't count into this. I was just trying to provide more information. Hope you'll find a home somewhere. 🤝
That’s sad to read. She was a good one. Would love to learn why. Goodbye 🤙🏼🧡🗽💜
Nice to meet you lucas 🤝😉
What's the problem? What did you think was different? 🤔
That makes sense. I do think there are lot of opportunities here if we use nostr as a tool. Most will simply consume i suppose.
I feel this, Sara. 🧡
Social media is sub.
Even the best form of social media, which is clearly #nostr.
IRL for the win.
No
#Nostr isn’t better because it feels different. It’s better because the rules are real.
No algorithms to blame. No platforms to censor you. No likes to manipulate your worth. Just your words, your signal, and the people who resonate.
If that feels empty, it’s because there’s no illusion left to hide behind. Most of what social media gave us was dopamine, not dialogue, false signals, not real connection.
This place doesn’t promise better vibes. It offers raw freedom. And freedom, like truth, is often disappointing at first… until you realize what you can build with it.
And if you’d rather stay in real life and leave it behind, that’s valid too.
You’re not wrong. You might just be early my friend.
I gasped out loud🥺
