It's generally an intelligence thing. People don't like eating non ruminants because things that eat grass are generally dumb. It's the same argument against eating predators, Dolphins, Parrots, Crows, dogs, cats, and other fairly intelligent species. There's no hard and fast rule about what hits the threshold but generally it feels "icky" to eat stuff that might contemplate their demise.

No one thinks twice about eating octopus and it's like definitely on eof the most intelligent creatures on the planet... The feelings you describe are all cultural. I disagree it has anything to do with the intelligence of the animal you're eating. Oh... Pigs are also very intelligent. Billions of people will tell you bacon is yummy.
I am not saying it's inconsistent. I am saying that's why people feel that way. Most people don't eat octopus for different cultural reasons. Pigs are (incorrectly) not seen as intelligent by those who say "bacon is yummy." Either way, I have eaten many intelligent things, I just have a habit of thanking them for their lifeforce to sustain my own.
Also, there's a layer of Lopp ingesting something that never in his wildest dreams could he have hunted and butchered that might have something to do with the reaction being seen here.
Hunt is one thing but there are few that could. Probably a generational skill. But that's exactly what money is for... Paying someone else for their high skill in a certain field. You don't know how to build a computer but you're using one to reply to this comment. One that you bought with money. I'd put money on @npub17u5d...t4tp being able to butcher it with direction though.
I would not tell me what I can build, you don't know what my skills allow me to do. Again, not saying I feel this way, I am relaying to you how others seem to feel because you seem to be perplexed by their reaction. Butchering is not that easy btw, novices waste a good percentage of edible meat.
You can buy computer parts and put them together. My comment was not to say you can't build a PC... It's to say you cannot manufactur a GTX5090 or equivalent, but you can buy one. I'm sure a novice would waste a lot of meat. That's not the point.
Funny. Is there a difference between using sillica to fashion new chips and repurposing old ones? Discarded materials and raw materials are effectively the same, free component to build with.
I haven't heard of someone using a GTX5090 to render graphics for Nostr but that sounds neat. 😂
Efficiency for sure but I never claimed to have a better chip than Nvidia, just that I'm not dependent on them.

The main hang up about eating predators is the parasites they carry.
