My dad is the same way. I’m not yet “successful” by his measure (nor my own) … he has been sure to let me know his feelings on my decision to go all-in as a bitcoin maxi.
He has also tried to wrest control of my outcome by stating, “As I’ve said all along, you’re either going to get very rich or be very poor.”
He actively chastised me at $16k, told me to sell everything because it was going to zero. I didn’t. I stacked harder.
Fathers and their impact on their kids. Profound in one way or the other.
💯. I celebrate every moral thing my kids put their effort into as a success. If it works out the way they hoped, that is just icing on the cake.

Morality and ethics matter
Sorry to hear you don’t feel supported but looks to me like you’re on a new path and making good choices. My kids make lots of decisions I wouldn’t make if I was in charge of their lives. I try to keep my mouth shut unless they ask, then they get my honest opinion. I love the times when I find out their way was better than mine. And if they ever fail trying great things, they know they can come back home for a reset.
And are highly dependent on the individuals determination of what one deems moral and ethical.
my uncle, who runs our family office, has finally acknowledged that i have been successful on my own by researching and "betting on" bitcoin. he, of course, now wants me to meet with our banker in denver and begin diversifying.
i told him i have a multi-year (forever) plan to hodl bitcoin. ok, he nodded, but we are going to discuss this again, he said.
Many “successful” think hard work is the way the stars aligned for them, the right place at the right time plus the effort and if you didn’t do it that way, you don’t deserve my respect. Not being able to recognize that working hard today get you a lot less than working hard 40 years ago.

Not meaning to be too contrarian here, but success at the cost of a person's integrity would be one "wrong way" imo. I think a lot of people who are uneducated on the subject presume Bitcoin is in some way dishonest, which would negatively inform how they view a person's success through Bitcoin.
