If you’re begging for the state to surveil and criminally prosecute people who disagree with you, you’re on the wrong side of history. image

they have latched on to the "lifting op_return limits in relay policy enables csam" which is factually incorrect. this can happen today without any changes to core, and it doesn't make it any easier either due to preferential peering of libre relay nodes. basically they are just using this factually incorrect statement to attack core devs and to attract state level attacks.
It’s pathetic and gross. Honestly I was going to stay out of this debate but the Knotzis have forced me to wade in.

Having children and seeing what happened to BSV makes me very emotionally susceptible to the “Knots side” of this argument. That said, I realize my own knowledge handicap with these topics and am doing my best to reserve any judgements, one way or the other, until I am more confidently knowledgeable about the subject matter. Stay free, stay humble, touch grass, love much and keep stacking out there! And for those who do fully understand such topics, please “bring the sauce” whenever possible. Many of us are still early learners.
I’ve heard of toxic flame wars in the Linux dev world, but wow! that’s next-level! 😱

One point of control is too many when it comes things like Bitcoin. Just like one point of control would prevent you from freely posting your thoughts. You wouldn't like that very much, would you?

Can you explain this better? How can this happen today? Im not trying to make a point, im really trying to understand

Has Walker ever told the root cause of this "debate"? Something about Citrea starting it? Remember how Core CENSORED contributors, devs and other peoples opinion for just mentioning Citrea? Remember Core supporters attacking Bitcoin Knots? Walker and Core gaslighting is not the worst things. We already saw worse things. But the truth is out ther, for example in this video ... because uncapped op_return is the actual rules of the network. capped op_return is an unenforceable policy that is easy to route around. now if we think this is bad, we should softfork an actual limit so its impossible to get around.
What false statement? You think removing the OP_Return will lead to more spam is false? Stop thinking economically only. Why open an attack vector for anyone who wants to kill Bitcoin? Remember, you CAN’T roll back the chain. It only takes 1 CSAM to open up a can of worms and fuck it up for everyone. FOR WHAT? So miners can make another dollar?
In the case of agentic agenda this is true. And among the psychopathic and delusional 'ends justify the means' disingenuous / kayfabers. But on the margins there are wafflers who listen. That said, innovations that minimize the energy expenditure necessary for respondent to inauthentic, diversionary 'bouquet' attacks are worth considering.
For someone like me, still figuring this out. For sure makes me wonder why you would make a post like this.

Doesn’t sound like he’s begging the state to do that, he’s just pulling the future into the present to make a point.

When you mean easy? How easy, easy for very technical people, or like direct submission to miners? Because if its not feasible to reliably route around the op_return limit I don't see why you should be basically removing it

easy as in you can go to and put in whatever you want. this uses libre relay as their backend. if you want something custom you can just download librerelay and send it that way. people creating large op_returns with image data need to be somewhat technical anyways. if they can do that then they can download librerelay and broadcast it to a miner there is no "upload jpg" on the bitcoin client, you will be using custom software regardless. and it can be as easy as a website. knots doesn't do shit all to stop it.

All non-monetary data transactions can be fixed. Its because filters works. Thats why runes and ordinals shitcoiners are scared from tight nodes policies. image

This is the disgusting shitcoin spammers business model. Now they sell message storage on Bitcoin but you can see its capped to 80 Bytes (on OP_RETURN). Do you wonder why? Becuase filters work. Next they want it to 100 KB and start selling distributed storage for CSAM. Its fucking disgusting. image https://poststr.com/

You are just someone else's nigger at the end of the day, hope you're fully aware of that fact. Enjoy your posting. It'll eventually end.

Seems like CSAM will be the other FUD shoe to drop to try and regulate BTC. After the terrorism connection claim, it was only natural that "protect children" would come next. Always does.
Man…I wish I could crawl back under a rock and just turn on tv so I didn’t have to think about these arguments and consequences of the outcomes of these arguments…I’m a knots guy, but there are so many ways to critically think about all of this. Regardless of your side, I appreciate all of you helping my brain move further away from slave thought and closer to sovereign thought 🙂🙂👍🏻👍🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
I sincerely can't tell if you're joking so no, I was alluding to the old "if you don't stand up for the persecuted, no one will stand up for you because by the time they get to persecuting you, everyone else will be gone" trope. So my point was if you ask the state to surveil and hurt people who disagree with you, you're both on the wrong side of history (hopefully) and probably next in line when the machine is looking for new lives to destroy. Like, who were the final victims of the Chinese "Cultural Revolution"? The very bands of violent students who started the revolution in the first place.

there are 100 core devs who contributed to core in the past 500 commits. your plan is to replace all of these devs familiar with the codebase with who exactly

all because a non-consensus parameter was tweaked, a parameter which has no affect on what gets into blocks. seems completely reasonable 🙄
If the circus that this has escalated into is the best those 100 devs could manage then they may as well be replaced with 100 monkeys. The meritocracy is you refer to is broken. It’s a pool of entrenched insiders passing themselves gold stars. You complain that non core people just don’t understand the technical nuances. But half the room is telling you YOURE GOING THE WRONG DIRECTION. But you’re deafened by your own collective arrogance. You personally just sound like a drunken child throwing a tantrum. image
Im not even a part of this discussions, but it's clear to me that you should have stayed away from it. This is a pretty amazing bad take. Crazy thing to compare. You should be ashamed.
Part of the reason Walker is becoming enemy #1 is because he is one of the few big podcasters who hasn't been going long enough to become audience captured and still thinks for himself. Modern Bitcoin maximalism likes to think of itself as the white blood cells of the corpus but in reality it's more of a cancer that needs to be cut out for Bitcoin to grow. View quoted note →
Nothing is changing other than policy defaults, which are meaningless anyway if you look at sub sat feerates. Your comment is vile, to insinuate violence against devs because you do not understand how Bitcoin works and have been emotionally riled up by Bitcoin personalities is deplorable. Take time to reflect on your hatred.
Appreciate the clarification — you’re right on the money and I couldn’t agree more. Sorry to need to ask in the first place but with the level of discourse recently it’s hard to tell…
No problem at all, I love me a good bit of rambling. Political confrontations have become quite harsh in recent times, I just hope we're in for a great liberation rather than endless violence and chaos.
It took me a minute to get what you mean with this picture. Notice literally every response thought you meant use the ropes on devs. This isn't productive. Stay sane, people.
