@ODELL That much is certain and is fundamental to Bitcoin But leaving your response there misses the point. The problem is two-fold: 1. Why are we removing seemingly harmless options for node operators? And 2. Why are we implementing these changes without broad community consensus, and over very vocal opposition?

People say stuff I don't like all the time and I defend their right to do it. I'm not down with people crapping on the sidewalk, though. Bitcoin is a payments network.
#Bitcoin is a monetary network, NOT a playground for spammers, gamers, and scammers, so stop clogging up it with useless transactions and respect the network's purpose.
#Bitcoin is a MONETARY NETWORK, not a dumping ground for spam and garbage, so why are we considering making it easier for spammers to clog up our chain with worthless transactions?
Cant people just run knots if they don't like that btc core software is removing this filter? Or if the market demands this filter, someone will make a different distribution of a node to do so?
Yes, they can but imo the problem is the cultural shift we seem to see at the base layer. Do we want to fix the money or push digital fiat shitcoin casinos?
Why are Knots users complaining about Bitcoin Core software? People can choose another software that works for them too
I guess the real problem, IMO, is there is so little economic activity for people actually using btc peer to peer, that stupid shit fills the gap. 'Shitcoin casinos' seem to be the only thing creating any transactions right now.
