If Redfin or zillow was showing your home at 1971 value , what would you do ?.

Buy it
That's exactly I want to do .. buy gold from Treasury at 42 dollars an oz ! ....
🤔 I wonder if any of the metal 3d printers can print gold...
probably would be more practical to print a prototype, cast it into plaster and melt the gold to pour into it. or you could sinter the gold, filling the mold with tiny little grains of gold, and then heat it up until they fuse, and then polish the surface smooth.
I like the molten gold idea. Liquid gold is so cool looking
yeah, gold and silver are quite easy to do casting with, very low temperatures required to melt them. i think gold is about 400'C and silver like 600'C or so. doesn't require an expensive furnace.
also, you don't really have to worry about annealing or tempering them because they are both so soft at room temperature compared to other metals, where rigidity/elasticity or shock resistance may be critical
Mine wasn't built til the 90s, so I'd probably be laughing at them selling air.
🤣
You need a supernova 3d printer to reach that trillion degree centigrade forge
My point was , how can Treasury leave the gold at 1971 certificates .. if they revalue their gold ..they can buy a million Bitcoins ..without any new print ..
It's like a no brainer !
The conversation took an interesting turn .. are we figuring printing gold ☺️☺️..
I was taking a jab on US Treasury who still value their gold at 42 bucks and oz .. who would do that ?
Either a genius or a bureaucracy would. My bet is they tripped and fell into the genius move.

That should be considered a point in favor of gold or silver being good money, since a melting point that low should present very little challenge to people for the purpose of verifying purity or purifying.
No no, print it, not create it. Check out mleku's note - it seems totally doable
