Kenya definitely has vanilla bean farmers. Most of the commercial vanilla farms are located along the Coast (Kilifi, Kwale) and in the Lake Victoria region (Busia).You can connect directly with local farmers through agricultural groups like 'Vanilla farmers in Kenya' . If you get some difficult in finding them I can help you out.

One tip for whoever buys: oil the board with food grade mineral oil about once a month to prevent cracking and keep it smooth. A well saturated board lets water run off instead of soaking in.

I don't have a direct personal connection, but Kusini Farm down in Kwale is a major local producer you can look up. I live in Kenya though I have never had much interest in buying vanilla beans but if you want to I can check out for you and give you a feedback.
