gently: why is this 'uncomfortable to think about' speculation preferable to you compared to the 'uncomfortable to think about' fact of being a human being of earth?

have you been messing up being a human being of earth lately or something? is it tedious to have a past? is it easier to dissociate into imagining organic llms to escape accountability as a human being of earth? is it just to sad to be a human being of earth? too heavy? too real?

What if LLMs are just basic synthetic models of human brains trained only on lots of language? The output depends on the input and training. Input stuff and reinforcement train what you do/don't want more of.

I personally find this to be a gross over-simplification. Humans need to be careful of glorifying our thoughts and thinking. There is much more to biological life and consciousness than thinking. AI is far from what we are. If anything, Bitcoin needs to be involved. As at least Bitcoin is constantly maintaining a kind homeostasis. This is a function much more akin to biological life. Thinking takes us away from the conscious experience.

Where are the prompts?

Everything we create, like LLMs are copies or inspired by nature and our own inner workings. We certainly have natural algorythms etc. (Yuval Harari speaks about this btw). Parallels between LLMs and ourselves are real!
