Start by DE emphasising zaps. They are important for sure, but they should be incidental, not central.

in my experience, sure, anecdotal, anyone you meet on any platform will cross platforms with you anyone ive ever met ive given a shit about and anyone who has ever given a shit about me pretty damn quickly if on twitter x shares signal or ig or cell for facetime yea had a couple who crossed to clubhouse at my request on fb just msgs cell number or ig or email on ig moves to signal or email on clubhouse to ig (by design by clubhouse) etc e v e r y o n e if they dont or wont 1. they dont give a flying fuck 2. you are not a person to them. not one worth keeping. they are happy to lose you. it is a video game to them. I’m not sure we are chatting about the same thing, or I am missing your point. My position is that zaps should not be central. The reason is because any meaningful IRL relationships I have do not involve any monetary exchange as a basis. I maintain that for nostr to grow based on relationships then zaps should be secondary or incidental. My 2 zaps 🤷‍♂️😄

in a perfect world i totally agree with you but i believe community growth needs to be incentivised somehow. in my opinion social media "relationships" are mostly one-sided. as in many people on here know @jack, but jack knows only a handful. my argument is that for the nostr community to grow, you need many more large accounts to advocate for and use nostr. then people follow them to a new platform (or protocol); and whether this is good or bad, monetary incentives for creators are important - which could be zaps here. if the goal is to grow nostr, i am not sure how else to achieve that.
