Oh man I can’t wait to listen to this. Thanks for all you do Peter. I love the new show, but I don’t think that you’re obnoxious
Great show for the UK lads!

This is why I made the change with the show. In this interview I discuss the impending Sovereign Debt Crisis with @Rt Hon Steve Baker FRSA, former Member of Parliament for Wycombe. We also discuss the economic illiteracy in government, debt, inflation and the potential for #Bitcoin. Listen: Watch:

YES - then the fucking arrogant "I was in advertising" hand wave when everyone chimed in. Why would you ever change your brand from bitcoin to being obnoxious? He's not even obnoxious, just everyman rough around the edges. Ironically, bitcoin made him obnoxious ha.

Looking forward to this..
I enjoy your new direction. As it is often said, even if you’re on the right track, if you sit still, you’ll be run over.

DUH! Why the fuck would a new person complain about the name!? They just scroll by and don't click the stupid sounding show. I can embrace change, sir, I cannot embrace dopyness....
fair, but I have to be honest Pete, I never listened to the old podcast to hear your political opinions or monologues, it's not your strong suit. I listened because you were a good interviewer. New show leaves a lot to be desired, very meandering and without tight focus. you often repeat the same content between interviews now by self-referencing across guests. lots of meta talk about your podcast. gave the new show about 4 episodes of listening and haven't been back to it since mean for this to be constructive criticism
Thanks for the feedback but I don’t really expect to keep many of the old listeners. It took 860 episodes to refine the Bitcoin one, now it’s a new show doing a new thing. Hosting is hard, it takes time. The old show was criticised endlessly but still became the biggest show on Bitcoin. Endlessly people would tell me do this, so that, I hate your opinions on this yadda yadda. I still just did my thing. There are many people who liked my political opinions and monologues. Thinking a show is perfect for you is a mistake, different people take different things from it, some like the guests, some like the questions, some like the references to my businesses etc etc… This is now a hobby, I’m cool with however it plays out, even if it doesn’t work. I did 7 years of flying and being away from my family, now I want a different life.

I'll watch it tonight. Quite like Steve Baker. Apparently he gave an address in the Commons about bitcoin in 2013, 2014 ish. Ahead of his time...

Far better articulated than I manage after a few pints, arguing with my leftie mates. Doubt they’d actually give it a listen if I shared it, though—so here’s to the arguments continuing! 😂

Great Conversation. All makes sense!
Great conversation. Not convinced that political engagement is the solution unless it’s a concerted effort to radically shrink the state. Apathy is a big problem, people will only wake up when they’re forced to. We’re in the “trust us” phase image
This is the first of the Mr Obnoxious podcasts I've listened too, despite regularly listening to what bitcoin did. Don't know why, but the new name triggered me. Anyway, great listen and great to see Steve on NOSTR
I get that you did it for those reasons, and they're good, I'm just saying I find the show doesn't suit anymore. I don't think it plays to your strengths as a host. that's all. best of luck with it, I feel you'll have success. just not for me anymore
You may be right but a moment of reflection on who is in Parliament and for how long tells you political party membership in a democracy is a lifelong endeavour.

Don’t be so daft. Apart from never having partied with Michael, we disagree profoundly across a wide field.

Agree with this, Peter. UK listener here, from even before WhatBitcoinDid. There’re only so many episodes about bitcoin most people need when the message is (broadly) to stack sats, don’t use leverage (appreciate you’ve done this) and hold for at least 4-5 years. I ended up diving in and out of the old show quite a lot. And, whilst maxi’s play an important role for bitcoin, they can get a bit much at times. They certainly don’t always help bitcoin become more mainstream. Most important, while I don’t know you, I’m pleased that you have made the lifestyle decision to improve your quality of life; if the show is now a hobby, why would you do anything else? I don’t always agree with your/your guests views on the new show, but you ask some good questions and I like being challenged in my thinking. Is certainly refreshing compared to what you hear elsewhere. The swearing can make it tricky to share with friends and family, but appreciate that’s you. Have a good weekend.
