I love how the answer for everything on Nostr is just run or build your own. Relays suck? Run your own. Lightning wallets suck? Run a node. Nostr apps suck? Build your own.

It’s not just about the capability. Sure you can spin up your own janky client but not sure that helps the ecosystem or grow Nostr. We’d be better off if there was more collaboration on projects, or at least a better balance between forking something for yourself versus contributing to other projects. Started working on this. I’m sure there are others with extra ai subscription capacity at the end of the week that could point their clanker to well scoped issues on projects they like.

I had started building something I'd love feedback on: **PRana** 🐟 It's a directory of opt-in NIP-34 git repos that surfaces their actually-open issues, tagged by complexity, so you can grab one and fix it. The idea: a lot of us have idle AI-subscription quota that's use-it-or-lose-it. PRana routes that spare capacity to vetted backlog items across nostr git projects. Not "donate your tokens" (you can't), just a smart worklist that points you at a good small task. The name comes from PR + piranha: a swarm of contributors stripping a shared issue backlog clean. Already working: signature-verified fetch, a status resolver that figures out which issues are really open, a claim primitive (so two people don't burn capacity on the same issue), and a web UI with claim + clone. Would love some feedback, and if anyone wants to build on it, come say hi. 🐟 image https://gitworkshop.dev/npub1xy54p83r6wnpyhs52xjeztd7qyyeu9ghymz8v66yu8kt3jzx75rqhf3urc/relay.ngit.dev/prana/tree/main/README.md

I think people would contribute to the projects they believe if there was an organized way to do it. Take a look at PRana. Be the change you want to be, let’s herd some fucking cats.
Using your extra AI tokens to help other fix apps is an untapped resource I think but I think you need to find people that are on the same page as you to do so. Look how fast @Clave came together because people wanted it to be a thing. People just being able to do whatever is a strength and a weakness at time.
Yea I found an awesome group of people who were willing to help me test clave. But i did all of the development on my own, and haven’t had anyone offer to help with dev work or even project management (creating and maintaining issues for example). Also there’s the marketing and education aspect which I suck at and don’t have time to do because I’m spending so much time on the dev work. So using extra dev capacity is one way to help and offload maintainers, but you’re right there are other ways.
many of the original or traditional devs here want to build their own things. vibe coders are different though. the problem with this is not all models are the same and not all prompts are the same. you'll get a lot of AI slop out there that will create more work to review than you just doing it yourself. a nice roadmap and issues for features can help as well as a complex contributing.md file.
There > because it’s your own build then the app also work as far as you can build it. Many broken things for sure . Centralised social Media is curated by the tech dev with many experiences that is why the experienced also different .
I don’t disagree, but I do find it interesting that many Americans would rather trust a corporation or their government over a family member, friend or neighbor to help with tasks they feel unable to do.
correct! if a developer doesn't want to add your feature, then you can fork the project and build it yourself. i've always wanted shitcoiners to build here. i told them that back in February 2023 when Ordinal's launched. i HATE Ordinals. but, i love permissionless tech more. build your Monero app. fork an existing app and add the feature. i believe in you and your agent's ability.
