Now, where is the plain-language guide to "nostr for Dummies"? Nostr seems like a DIY lifeboat kit for passengers on the social media Titanic, and I can't be alone in my struggle to figure it out. I don't think I'm a dummy, but I sure feel like one sometimes trying to get started.
There are a few people who have written up good help/explainer sites. I’ll repost you so someone can chime in with their recommendations as I don’t know which have been kept most up to date.
There are some, and yet there should be none.
If nostr apps improve, that is.
Best approach is find apps with a team that is responsive to constructive feedback, and with a welcoming community of users. Provide feedback, ask questions.
