Interesting, considering that the money to "pay back" the "debt" do not exists, and they could be created by loan, in USA since 2020 without limits, in EU 1% fractional reserve (meaning the bank could create 99€ per any € it have)...
This has existed for a long time. As far as I know you could always volunteer to pay more tax to the government if you wanted to.

The Govt of Ontario does that, too. I really wonder how many fall for this crap. I can voluntarily donate my tax return to them. Silly fools! I don't pay my taxes in advance and owe at every filing (benefit of self employment).
