I think I could probably read 2-3 more books before the year is up. Possibly.

the 3 is in your name already
it's meant to be
I didn’t think about that 😂💯 it’s fate
Tough going. I've just started one called "The Strangest Man", a biography of Paul Dirac.
there will be signs
Fun challenge though 😁
Nice! How is it so far?
What are you going to read?
I'm finding it interesting as it focuses on his personal life as opposed to his academic/physics achievements. He made his discoveries in the 1930's before autism was actually a clinical diagnosis, but it's largely thought that he was autistic. I have an "Interest" shall we say, in the condition. What are you reading atm🤔?
What's been your favorite book that you've read this year?
It’s definitely going to be Stolen Focus - I’m only a quarter way in but I feel it’s teaching me and helping me realise things about my own habits - and also feeling slightly better about them 🙏🏽
Not much of a competition though 😭 the other books I completed were thrillers and romances 🥹 nothing wrong with them, but I feel they didn’t really teach me anything
What’s your favourite book you’ve read this year? 🫂
I’m hoping one will be Great Expectations. I remember reading parts in school but I never got round to finishing it 🫂
That is rather interesting 🫂🫂 he sounds like a fascinating man from what I’ve briefly read online
‘Pick a flower on Earth and you move the farthest star’
— Paul A.M. Dirac
This is beautiful 👆 poetry
I’m reading Stolen Focus at the moment - I’ve had some trouble staying focused on one thing at a time this year and am hoping to adopt better habits. I had started the book earlier in the year but got distracted - as usual 😭. It’s reading rather smoothly now 🫂
I never finished that either. I just used the cliffs notes
One of the books I'm currently reading is Will Durrant's The Story of Civilization. I'm still on Volume 1. It's a multi-volume series he worked on throughout his life with the help of his wife Ariel Durrant.
It's making me see people in a magical way. A detailed writing of human history in a simple way.
I think I understand what you meant about the books that are read more for entertainment. They're a fun ride, but less likely to be impactful unless they're something that hits in a special meaningful way.
This is so cool! Adding to my TBR pile 🫂
Yesss this exactly! - I say this as I pick up Harry Potter to reread tonight 👀 I’m shameless 😭
