Think about where we were just 1-2 years ago guys.
We literally didn’t have this place. This network is obviously still very small in the larger scheme, but I think uts already having a big impact on how information moves particularly in the #Bitcoin space. I’m increasingly feeling like the move to #Nostr from Twitter will mimic the move from Reddit to Twitter back in the 2016-18 era.

Yeah, #Nostr has been an amazing development in the #Bitcoin saga. We have a decentralized Network for global comms now. Gets stronger and more refined every day. Did not see this coming a year ago, when I was still on Reddit 😂😭
This time last year we were flipping out about parsing pasted bolt11 invoices in WebApps 🤭 what a year it has been
It gets harder and harder to remember the before times. And new people onboarding to both nostr and Bitcoin will have such an easier transition thanks to the hard work of so many devs and dedicated bitcoiners/freedom maxis.
Think about where we'll be in 2 years!
100%
When you're in the thick of it, it can feel like progress is slow.
You have to zoom out to see how thick the forest has grown.
The quality & availablity of bitcoin education has also grown substantially. It's never been easier to understand why bitcoin & bypass the shitcoin circus.
I'm still surprised that Bitcoiners are ignoring nostr. TwitteX has a used by date & it's already starting to smell off.
Crazy to think where we started to where we are now. I remember trying this thing out at the time when Damus didn't even exist and I was just trying out Snort and not properly saving my first account's keys lol.
Was in the first ever hell thread and got zapped 10k sats from Jack for a meme.
And the ability to have connected with many amazing people, including all the #AUStriches
A wild ride in just over a year and I can't wait to see where things go from here!
I remember 1year ago people spamming the chat with sats invoice 🤣
I’ve never thought of it in those terms but Reddit was my main source of Bitcoin info five or six years ago, and then one day I realized that the action on Twitter was 100 IQ points higher and I never followed BTC Reddit again.
.... going to #twiiter or #reddit is such a pain now that you know you wont be able to change the same old client ever .... and no one would zap your work besides being buried under a crazy polarizing algorithm .. it feels like a sin ..seriously !
This is bigger than the move from Reddit to Twitter.
We’re not renting a room in someone else’s house anymore, and having to play by their rules.
We’ve built our own country.
The great r/bitcoin exodus of 2016 😂
I think if more nostr clients on the web support server side rendering we could leverage link juice for google seo. But most clients I've looked at aren't indexed by google due to be spas.
Nostr n Bitcoin are about to completely change the world🙏
And Tor
Bear markets are for building. And people have been building. A lot.
And the UX keeps getting better and better.
All my favorite bitcoiners are on nostr.
I’m more than a little sus when I hear from a bitcoiner that’s on the elon app and shits on nostr. 🚩🚩🚩🚩
I've gotten so many lame reasons from them as to why they don't do Nostr 🙄
I’ve been saying this…

I don’t even know who is there anymore. zero interaction
Being on xitter in 2023 is sus-maxxing
Yes. Damn, forgot to tag @ODELL as one of my most influential cryptocurrency influencers, after watching he and Jack Mallers on a podcast, and then individually on Nostr.
I still get having a presence on Twitter, but *not* being on #nostr is dumb.
Nostr literally lets you hold your own social keys. Refusing to use it is like insisting to only ever hold the equivalent of bitcoin IOUs for your social network.
People have their socials regularly obliterated for no reason these days. Livelihoods are often attached to our networks now. At the LEAST, #nostr should be considered necessary social network disaster insurance.
(I give a tiny bit of leeway to those who avoid it because they just think they have a *better* solution to the decentralized social problem… whether they are right or wrong, that makes more sense)
This is absolutely the right reasonable take. I’m more of a #Nostr maxi myself but I’m not great with compromise.
