I feel as though much ancient knowledge for how to work with rock has been lost/hidden.
I'm struggling with the task of simply moving the rocks that have been dumped of my hill by previous owners.

What type of rock is it? You can make some cool stuff with the right rocks 🙂
Just remember you don't have a rock dumping problem you have a Japanese garden deficiency 😁

Working with charcoal technology is something special for me. I did a blacksmithing course a few years ago & the guy's charcoal was contaminated with sand. You occasionally had to knock out the glass lumps that forned at the bottom of the forge.
