Has it ever crossed the mind of those "hodl hodl and never spedn" fiat Bitcoiners that if they hodl long enough, do nothing for building a circular Bitcoin economy, and then maybe 20 or 30 years down the line, like they planned, wanna cash out their stash back into fiat... they'll probably only get CBDCs in return? And a bunch of laws and regs on taxes and assets will have totally changed by then? ๐Ÿ˜€

Yeah, exactly. We gotta put some of our stack into building up the infrastructure right now and also spend a bit on stuff like everyday buys, donations, you know, so we can figure out what works, what's still missing, and how to make it better. That kind of thing doesn't just happen overnight. Real Bitcoiners don't even want to swap for fiat ever. They want to go ahead and spend a portion of it now while saving the bulk.
I get what you are saying there is just nothing valuable enough for me to spend my sats.. hodling has definitely shifted my mentality on spending and being a conscious buyer of goods and services
It has done the same for me as well. That's why I think when we conceive of a circular economy, it should be around needed goods like food and shelter. Yes, we've become more conscious buyers. Great. But we still gotta eat. That's why I love initiatives like @npub12pl4...42wq where you can buy (healthy) food with sats instead of buying unhealthy foods with fiat. Those are the kinds of projects that are needed to help kick start circular economies in real life.
