I like that there's no need for a centralised server & that you can self host at least 1 half of your DMs.
I like that they ask for no personally identifiable information from you. Migration between devices is by a data dump into an encrypted file.
I've been using it for 2 years & I have my family on it. They know I won't always be connected to the mobile network.
Voice calls have a delay sometimes but the quality is fine.
I've not seen a better alternative yet.
I'm very close to nuking telegram & signal.

But do we know / or has it being audited that servers relaying messages can’t read?
Most people will use default servers that’s why I’m asking
Have you tried Keet? It’s P2P, no server, no middle man literally impossible for anybody to spy or listen.
I don't know for sure, no.
I know they can't leak info they don't have though.
The greater risk is that the other device is running stock android or iOS and is scraping the screen.
Yeah I use keet to move text & files between devices.
Basically like sync thing
It's pretty crappy for instant messaging & chat groups though.
i used keet a lot... though I think for instant messenger is still not the best
I find it excellent for instant messaging and groups? What's the issues?
