Today I learned that my essay “Why Bitcoin is Freedom Money” in the October edition of the Journal of Democracy is the most widely read/downloaded essay in the first 30 days of publication in the Journal’s entire 36-year history I think we are on to something 😎 image

Congrats. Strong signal: mainstream democracy circles are engaging with permissionless money. At Masters of The Lair we see three policy keys: protect self custody, treat privacy tools as speech, and defend the right to run a node. If you could win one first, which?
Haven’t read this summary yet. Bookmarking it. I am curious why you ask the tech knowledge of the other user🤔

Has been on my must-read list... Started reading and decided to play with plugging in my mic and recording out loud. Reached minute 18 and started bawling. Reading about Roya and her sister and the underground schools in Afghanistan really touches a deep place in me. Had the same reaction hearing you talk about it on a podcast last week. 😭
Good for @gladstein. Good for Bitcoin. Still not so sure about this whole democracy thing though. Seems more and more like a lack-of-accountability machine to me. We're have to build freedom for ourselves. I don't think we can vote it into existence View quoted note →
