Fair point, but that's an argument for NIP-46, not local nsec storage. If Amber isn't accessible to Google Play users, it seems to me the solution is a signing flow that doesn't require it—but still retains the option for users who can sideload, at least for now. Not putting the key directly in the client. A user who can't install Amber probably shouldn't be managing a raw nsec either. @greenart7c3 any plans to bring Amber to Google Play?

Solução parcial, mas não aborda a questão central: controle de dados versus liberdade financeira.
I see. That's unfortunate to hear. I thought Wisp had a lot of promise—I'm one of the people who won't be using it because of this change, and I'm not the only one. I'm not going to needlessly risk burning my nsec to post memes. I can do that on Amethyst with my nsec secure.

No plans for Google play for now, I tried for almost a month to get the sms verification to work and after that they fucked up the LLC name and I could not finish the KYC process.
That sounds incredibly frustrating. I sincerely hope it changes before Google locks down sideloading on certified Android devices entirely. A lot of people run GrapheneOS as a secondary privacy device, not a primary device—I'm one of them. The overwhelming majority of people don't have a GrapheneOS device at all. Not having Amber would seriously affect many people's relationship with Nostr altogether. As you know as well as anyone, you can't rotate a compromised nsec. Thank you for the important work you do.
Jolla C2 with official Sailfish. First foray into that rabbit hole 😅 Mixed feelings tbh. First, the phone is sloooow. I dumped pre-order cash on their next phone hoping it will be better. I like the OS mostly. Really enjoy the tiles by now, but some things don't mix very well with Android apps, especially the swipe from right. Also native apps are rare, and often subpar unfortunately. No nostr client 😢I hope AI will do us good for once on that front. On the positive side, the good feeling of no Google account does a lot for me. And OH MY GODDESS, YouTube links actually open in a browser. That makes me smile every single time. Maybe I am easy to please 😄
I fear there will be only a negligible difference between the state now and then. What motivation would Google have to do otherwise? I want to introduce Linux on Mobile to the family as a daily driver, but I'm afraid that my sadomasochism is not strong enough to enjoy the amount of pain this will cause... We are approaching dark times, I'm afraid.
