Don't really know enough to have a strong opinion on it. All I really know is they use shielded Zcash tech by default which is cool.
The criticisms I've read are directed towards it's "accelerated emission schedule" for 90% of it's mined supply, notary nodes, and trusted setup. Don't know if the latter is still true or not.
