trusted setup is true, but they moved from trusting 6 people like zcash to above 80. however my source on this is a blog post, and not the whitepaper, which I couldn't find it in
I'm not saying it's amazing, but the confirm time is under 1 minute with no lock. so for spending cash it does hold a strong value proposition

I wouldn't be opposed to using it, I'm open to anything, but Monero is already relatively limited in places you can spend it as it is. One of the problems I have with Zcash. Technically better privacy with shielded right now, but it doesn't really help if I can't use it for anything.
Not sure if you've been keeping up with the selfish mining mitigation proposals, but if Monero starts using work shares or a finality layer the 10 block lock would go away if I understand correctly.
