Looking for help getting a picky 1 year old to eat meat. He loved it earlier in life but hitting a sticking point. #asknostr hit me with your favorite tips/recipes. I know toddlers are picky so I’m trying to figure out how to nourish the child I love

We have done a homemade chicken stock soup with chicken and some veggies. The chicken gets very tender and the bone broth is very nourishing. https://www.westonaprice.org/chicken-stock/ You can also try chopped liver. Very nutrient dense and easy for a one year old to eat. 1 lb  beef liver Butter or lard for cooking 1 large onion sliced 3 hard boiled eggs, peeled and diced Salt, to taste 1/4 cup Mayonnaise (I add based on taste and texture) Can provide instructions if you are interested.

You can also try a potato and meat hash, mixed in such that he cannot avoid the meat as easily. Keep trying different things but don't stress over it. When they are that young they don't need a ton of variety and it sounds like he is getting protein with the eggs and yogurt (and breast milk if he is still nursing), as well as nourishment from the other foods you are providing.

- Wait for him to be hungry. - Have a bottle of water available where he can reach. - Make a plate for yourself with meat in tiny bits (you can make it one side with salt/pepper, the other side plain meat). - Eat the meat with salt/pepper. Act natural, you're having your meal. - He'll want to eat. Grab some meat without salt with your fork and feed him. If you prefer, use a child's fork all along, but don't use one fork for you and another for him. - Continue to eat. One bite for you, one for him. I hoje this helps :)

If you want them having organ meat put some frozen chunks in a smoothie with their favorite fruits (for our kids that's blueberries) Also find some good pate or make some and put them on crackers or chips. The rule in our house is no crunchy things unless they have meat on top lol Also finding delicious sausage cut up that they'll eat. Soups too As they get bigger incorporate them in the actual cooking of the meat and they'll take more ownership of it We've made it a point over the years to point out to the kids how they feel in their bodies when they haven't had any protein (when they fight, bicker, and melt down way more). So now they choose proteins first (that takes time though)
