This guy is such a disingenuous little cunt. What’s worse is that most of the current core maintainers are not any better. And that’s why they are slowly losing this battle despite having all the credentials, all the funding, the weight of the reference implementation and the support from prominent names and influencers. Node runners simply hate to be gaslighted and told what to do from authorities. They had to deal with this their whole lives, but not this time. Not in Bitcoin. View quoted note →

Its very typical for web2 and web3 devs have severe cases of kruger-dunning, where their digital plumber jobs give them an incredible sense of intellectual dominion over others, while in reality they are often half retarded losers who never get laid in real life and have no sense of political or philosofical matters.
I made a family and am a proud father that provides his fam with a good income based on bitcoin education. Not that this has anything to do with the debate except you doing exactly what i said: kruger-dunning syndrome all day

its not hard to make a super slick ui that anyone can use to get around filters. the argument that its hard is at most a temporary state until someone makes it easy, which people are already starting to do.

you are claiming i am a random web3 person who knows nothing about bitcoin. I was working on bitcoin and lightning way before damus. Keep talking shit when you have no idea what you are talking about.
How can i explain to you that child porn onchain will kill th3 whole bitcoin train that is currently driving through wallstreet and alikes? I mean if you dont see that as very very logical than ther3 is no convincing you of anything in this life because ur closed minded. I dont care what u believe about MY filter setting, i just cant believe ur defending core taking away EVERYBODYS options to filter and at the same time opening the blocks up for graphic pics and vids. So yeah, keep showing how dishonoust and retarded you code writing nitwits are in this debate.
So we can go back to my original point of the post I made. And you can go about gaslighting all day long, thinking you help champion the core case, when in fact you’re doing the opposite. Never interrupt an enemy while making a mistake, they say. 🤷‍♂️

You are repeating false talking points. Knots relays cp too and that doesn’t change even with 100% knots node coverage
How old r u, 12? If we all run knots the cp will not end up in opreturn because there will not be 100kb opreturn. Its that simple. Stop the loser semantics, its painfully pathetic.

This is 100% false, because filters is not consensus code. I suggest you learn how bitcoin works.

Nope, you are being lied to. Sorry. I know cognitive dissonance is hard to recover from. Good luck!

Ironic coming from someone who obviously has no idea how bitcoin works

Also here, try to educate about the part that Bitcoin nodes play in the Bitcoin ecosystem. When you read, try to comprehend.

I 💜 Bitcoin Knots. So, who secures Bitcoin?! If securing Bitcoin requires consensus on what Bitcoin is, and Bitcoin is a database of values assigned to keys, and Bitcoin has a protocol for reassignment of keys, then securing Bitcoin can only be done by … your node! Nodes! Nodes! Nodes! In the end, YOU secure Bitcoin, but the only time that matters is when you agree with someone else on what Bitcoin is, and the only way that you can express yourself to others is via your node. You can try to abstract this and say that hodlers of last resort secure it, or that you can express yourself by buying or selling, but the only way you can actually communicate yourself is via enforcement of the protocol. What about Miners? Miners are suppliers of blocks, nothing more. Nodes demand consensus-compatible blocks as a vessel for key reassignment. Miners’ ability to influence the protocol is limited to the wiggle room within the protocol’s magic numbers. from https://medium.com/bitcoinerrorlog/who-secures-bitcoin-95b19bbcda3c

This i litterally the only thing coretards do, say that understand things better and thats why everykne else is wrong. With no proof or argumentation to show for. Kruger dunning all day bro

people have been storing data in bitcoin since the beginning. I wrote a bash one liner for extracting the whitepaper from the utxoset, even without txindex on. That is the worst kind of spam since it permanently bloats the utxoset (unprunable). Luckily we have unfiltered op_return to encourage people not to do that.

jb55 _@jb55.com 3 months ago
having consensus code that discriminates different types of data would be a consensus nightmare (chaotic hardfork generator)

jb55 _@jb55.com 3 months ago
yes of course, that would prevent large op_returns, but it would push people into storing large amounts of data in worse ways, like multisig outputs, witness data, etc. I like eriks analogy here: “Look, no one wants garbage on the timechain, but people are gonna litter. So, we can either make garbage cans for garbage (i.e. op_return) and people can put their garbage there, or people will put their garbage on the streets (UTXOs) b/c there are no garbage cans.”
I’d like to see the testimonials. Granted not an OG and in comparison to the devs I know shit about fuck. But this is the first time in nearly 5 years I’m genuinely apprehensive about what’s going on behind the scenes in Bitcoin. Do you know if @Gigi has gone into depth with this?

you literally haven’t made any point this entire conversation or explained how i’m wrong. You just throw out words like kruger and coretards. I feel like i am losing brain cells so i’ll stop wasting my tjme.
Ironically thechnically sound coding is not the topic we are discussing. The opreturn debate is about block space purpose and the monetarry mission of bitcoin to save the world from fiat tyrrany. U look really stupid beating around that bush.
I got like 8 of those running at my own home aswell as in the homes of family and friends already lil bro. No stopping this train.
Y? Because u can dissmiss my arguments and then claim u dont need arguments? Its not the flex u think 😆
No, I said you’re gaslighting about everything, therefore it’s useless to provide a specific example. It’s implied in the meaning of the word.

You haven’t called me out, you just said i was gaslighting and didn’t point to anything specifically. Good job 👍 you must have 2 brain cells
Can you just specify it kinda closer? You know, I’m a dumb user of Nostr, not a dev. So I’m interested where JB gaslighting because I want to understand it. Don’t be generic and let’s go staring to the point.
1. See the quoted text in the first post. 2. Click on it for context. 3. Read the whole thread. 4. Every statement of @jb55 is disingenuous. 5. How it is disingenuous, I hear you ask. Actually, you can tell a lie by saying the truth. He’s making statements like “you can’t stop spam” and “filters don’t stop anything” (technically true), but obfuscating the part that you can prevent significant quantities of spam being created in the first place by running filters. Bypassing filters is nuanced, requires some technical expertise, time, and oftentimes costs more than standard txs. He omits this important context, and makes the obvious statement that spam can’t be stopped by filters, by conveniently missing the “but” part. Telling half truths is considered disingenuous by people that are not socially retarded. Hope you’re not socially retarded, otherwise you might not get it… just like Will.

it's not that hard to run a libre node and just get it to connect to other libre nodes and miners. people who want to build data protocols would just use those nodes and have reliable tx delivery. running knots nodes doesn't do shit.
Sheesh, now I also got your point. So to block all the spam on the blockchain, it have to be centralized? Because after your explanation, I don’t see any scenario where whole 100% of bitcoin decentralized nodes will agree to run same thing. Cool! Thats why I love discussing straight to the topic instead of yapping generic stuff. Thanks to both of you. 🙏 Probably going back to the BtcCore.

To block the spam you would need to hardfork bitcoin and change consensus, and keep hardforking every time the spammers get around the blockades
