Especially in local government. I’m always paying surcharges for water bills. It shouldn’t be hard to fight back when there is an alternative for digital payments

They already do this in many establishments in Asia. Often, when I pay with card, I'm told it'll be 2-5% more expensive.

I'm on Boracay, the supposed Bitcoin Island in the Philippines. Nobody accepts bitcoin here anymore, locals saying its completely phased out. Hopefully it'll be back.,
