💯 Faith in divine justice was a revelation for me. As a person who puts a high prioity on truth and integrity, I used to struggle with this a lot. It's emotionally and spiritually draining to even feel the need to address every unfair characterization and critique. I've learned that most people are highly resistant to changing their minds. To spend your time and energy on them is a waste and comes at the opportunity cost of what you should be pursuing. "Pearls before swine" used to seem mean and went against a sense of fairness and duty. But, like most of Jesus's teachings, there is so much truth, if you dig below the surface.
I’m atheistic and I’d say this is more of a shift in personal thinking and growth than a product of a belief system. Don’t need to subscribe to a religion (and all the requirements and expectations therein) to understand that what other people think of you is not a reflection of who you are, but rather a reflection of themselves 🪞
