Oh wow it totally went over my head that Meta was directly involved in that , they basically created a closed internet that only has FB products (Facebook Basic , whatsapp basic ) in multiple countries around the world since 2012 and it’s still the case today , just imagine the effect of 13 years of that
Still. Free internet on FB is better than no internet. They’re a profit machine and they’re not going to provide internet to access their competitors.
Often they've never even HEARD of email. And if they have, they ask: "do you mean gmail"?
So Meta’s basically the gatekeeper of free online access in parts of Africa. That’s a clever way to hook millions while keeping the rest of the web out of reach.

yes true , like me . i am being targetted by meta since i live in poor country and free whats app and facebook . i am patiently watch ads 😃
