I agree, but shouldnt those of us with existing 30 year mortgages restructure into 50year loans and take the extra $ to stack?

Unpopular opinion: do the opposite. Pay off the mortgage, completely break the chains of fiat, acquire real freedom. You don't get time back.

And don't even get me started on the phasing out of pennies! I saw a sign at McDonald's today that was recommending customers pay in credit or debit cards because pennies aren't being minted anymore. I swear it's like fiat has stage IV cancer at this point.
