I got this all wrong Zaps aren't replacing Likes at @nextblock Reposts are replacing Likes My prediction is that if you take away the Like button, people will instead primarily hit Repost. It's free to do and actually helps the creator. "Like" does nothing but steal the creator's attention for a second when they have to view a notification. So if you like something, prove it. Repost it. Where there is no algorithm. And everyone wants to see good content. If you don't like it enough to Repost, you don't like it.

Likes are Fiat. Zaps are Bitcoin. (Literally) Likes/reactions are dark patterns. Zaps will free us. The design specs for the @nextblock video player have been set. Zaps will replace Likes. There will be no "like" button. Double tap to zap. IT HAS BEEN WRITTEN (in a notion ticket)

Likes don't do nothing... I use them to soften my words, which tend to get misinterpreted as hostile, but really I just have a fetish for efficiency. So a โค or a ๐Ÿค” efficiently fixes my inefficiency that arises from liking efficiency too much. But yes, a repost is best
