If your opening message is asking a woman:
how her weekend is going
how her evening is going
what she’s up to this weekend/ evening
Or any other dry toast question that one would ask a friend where there is already an established relationship, you are severely hurting your chances.
She does not want to tell Matt, 37, what she’s up to right now. Because you know what she’s up to? Probably lying on her couch scrolling through hundreds of men trying to find one iota of heat between her legs.
Tell her why you want to get to know her. Express your intentions, desires or what it felt like to see her profile. And if you can’t because you just quickly swiped and you’re not actually that interested, go play a video game instead.

Discussion of online dating is precluded by the notion of dating apps being illusory for me. Been there, done that - it’s just like porn or any other simulacra that people take up bc it’s easy and convenient.
I’ve become a firm believer that illusory experience and pursuits should be avoided. If you’re reeling from a breakup, remember what it is that feeds your soul and do it again, find ways to be social while doing what you love. Even if it takes longer to find someone, at least you’ll find them as a “whole” person, and more than likely you’ll have a foundation of shared interests and values to build a relationship on.
