I was too embarrased to write this yesterday as a citizen, but people should know. There is now a speed limit for pedestrians on walkways in Slovakia: 6km/h. Don't you dare run or walk fast! Now you know. OK, back to normal shitposting.

That’s pretty smart regulation. I just wonder why hasn’t that been introduced back then when we had old fashioned communist states in East EU. When those guys from police wanted to arest you they would have also had a chance to give you speeding ticket before beating you and throwing to jail. Now their grandsons can do that. image

Is it ok to be slightly faster than 6 km/h to pass someone?
"The Slovak parliament Tuesday afternoon adopted an amendment to the traffic law that sets a maximum permitted speed on sidewalks in urban areas at 6 kph. The limit applies to pedestrians, cyclists, skaters, and scooter and e-scooter riders — all of who are allowed on sidewalks — and aims to avoid frequent collisions." Yeah, I don't know. Kind of better than forbidding skaters and scooters but 6km/h is really slow. Make it 8 or 10 and it kind of makes sense as a "we allow all vehicles to move on the sidewalk as long as they are not faster than fast pedestrians". Running pedestrians should still be exempt from the speed limit as the inertia of a person+scooter will be higher than a slightly faster human without scooter.
