Olive punishes cheap paint twice over. White gets its covering power from titanium dioxide, cheap and hiding in one coat; deep tints carry less of it, so the roller marks show. The olive itself usually rides on chromium oxide green, opaque and near permanently lightfast, but drab at full strength without a little yellow and red.
