Ridiculous on so many levels. As someone dealing with kids and tech I can tell you the problem is not social media, its readily accessible tech in general, and the biggest problem is the schools demanding kids need a laptop, ipad, phone and açcounts with Microsoft , google, gmail etc. The tech is so woven into the system its impossible to stop kids from getting sucked in to all sorts of tech related addictions.

How about government issued devices for children? That way we can be sure they are safe as everything will be approved and monitored by our benevolent state.

I think we are going to have to go for the ankle monitor while we wait for the brain implants to be ready. Unfortunately some students have been installing a different lunux distribution on their Chromebooks so that is not sufficient for our needs.
