This is the 3rd consecutive day I have been trying to post my 12 minute video natively here.
Still could not get it to worked.
Primal wants me to pay 1 year upfront, nop.
Nostr.build, 450mb file limits, so not usable, also pay 1 year upfront.
My video is 12 min 700mb.
Is there really no way to do this?

Best to run your own blossom server then you're in control. Haven a decent all-in-one personal relay set and blossom server.
If not, then you'll have to pay someone else to host it.
Can you compressed the video before uploading? I think at least a couple of clients have integrated a compression tool for precisely this reason.
An alternative, if you can or feel inclined, is to set up your own Haven relay, which includes your own personal relay plus your own blossom media server.
I set mine up a few months ago and now I'm responsible for maintaining my media content. I know that if there's a problem with nostr build that not all of my media will vanish, though I still need to mirror all the content between my nostr build accband haven relay.
It is a bit of fluff and a degree of learning, but once your content is under your control, you can do as you wish with it, without worrying that someone else might remove it etc.
I have compressed it very aggresively. I wont do it less than 700mb.
I do not want to setup anything.
I dont want to spend time configuring things, I wan to spend time filming things.
Learning is not a problem I am very technical, and I have LLMs, I just want something that works.
And plus now I have this VPS, and other things and now i need to worry about bandwidth CNDs etc.
If you already have it on a CDN place, you can just past in the nostr note the full FQDN path to the mp4 file.
That's it.
Tbh, it's all trade offs. With Twitter/FB etc, you'll get "free" storage, uploads, shares etc. To get that you pay by surrendering control and being profiled. The risk is, one wrong move and years of work and effort are gone, forever.
On the flip side, you use your VPS to install haven, pay for your domain etc, it costs, time and effort. But on the upside, you're in full control of your content, you're not being profiled (yet) and you're not going to be censored for wrongthink.
Having set up my own relay, I get why people don't, however.
As a film maker, I suppose you already have that file on your local NAS storage, where you edit it and keep it in various versions.
That NAS can be easily facing the internet through a web interface, that is just 2 clicks to configure.
Then just copy/paste the full web path to that mp4 file from your NAS and share it on nostr. NO NEED to upload anything or pay anything.
You forgot to mention "for free".
I was interested in doing something like this for my photography. Unfortunately I don't have access to the router that my PC would be connected to and I can't leave it on all the time, but assuming those two conditions were met, is it really that easy to entirely self host?
Qnap and Synology NAS have very easy ways to expose a https web service inside your NAS and also WITHOUT touching your router.
You can have audio, video, photo and docs services that can be shared to outside your LAN super easy, without losing any security.
I need to look closer at this, I'm now wondering if it'd help with Chronicle - stuck between UPnP or third party to establish links between accounts atm, wondering if this'd be easier than expecting people to mess with their routers.
This could be really handy to learn about
I never said i want for free.
I wanted something I can pay per mb
Hosting is never "per mb". You need a time dimension, too.
Those services are not yet very sophisticated. One tier. Maybe three. Can't pay as you go, which probably is because they want something like rent.
Also they probably want you to over pay on your initial sign up to keep out nasty stuff. A service that lets you upload 700mb for a three month hosting a razor margins would get all the nasty stuff quickly.
Ah ok here he is..

here you go:
But it has been having some issues lately, so millage may vary.
It has per month option, but given your file sizes you get into the bigger tiers quickly
So given what you express that you want/looking for, satellite, earth is it.

Yeah, my NAS does this.
The only reason I need to learn this stuff is for an app I'm putting together, but I have a feeling that once learned, I'll find it extremely useful.
No, just fucking no.
Im not going to exposue absolutely nothing i have in my home to the internet.
What a silly solution to propose.
You can upload 5GB files on Nostr Media directly (and then copy the URL), or 125mb through a Nostr client. Monthly payments available too, in either btc or fiat.
