I can respect that. But, is this supposed sentence of his true? I can't find anything that says it is.
He hasn't been given a life sentence, he's been placed in prison at the orders of a judge for "contempt of court" because he refuses to agree with the claim that he's done anything wrong.
If he purges his contempt of court, and complies with orders not to visit the school he worked at, he can leave prison, but he refuses to do that.
