I feel bad about the squirrel too but the amount of outrage over a squirrel compared to the unarmed human beings murdered by the state (cops) isn't lost on me. A squirrel life โ‰  a human life Some people eat squirrels so there is that. The issue here is about property rights, not animal rights...the squirrel was property of the owner. Therefore, that is where this arguement should be centered, and there should be a due recourse for the owner.

Iโ€™m not disagreeing with the outrage. Iโ€™m just saying if people were supportive of โ€œsubversive โ€œ or marginalized communities when cops were storming onto our property killing us then maybe this wouldnโ€™t have been such a surprise. Fascism always starts with the outsiders then moves to the general population once they see how desensitized people are.
