Just boarded an eleven hour flight to Cairo. Going to spend the whole time doing a final proof-read of Broken Money to find the straggling typos that me and my editor missed, so my formatter can fix them in the final manuscript. It’s funny- no matter how many rounds of editing you do on a book, there are always still some there.

Publishers reached out including ones I like, but I decided to publish it via my own company to retain full control over content, art, schedule, etc. Our imprint is Timestamp Press. I hired an amazing editor (who is also an Oxford-trained monetary historian and bitcoiner, Joakim Book), and he was a big boost. I wouldn’t have gotten research assistance like that via most traditional publishing. Publishers are good if someone has a small platform or can’t front-load the costs. If someone has their own platform/reach and can front-load the costs, I think independent is the way to go.
There is always a detail that goes unnoticed. But we hope that all that effort will soon be completed. The book looks extensive. Well your articles are long but they are readable. That is appreciated 👍

Id recommend going to DAHAB ... magical hippy place ... some Bitcoiners are there too :)
Cuz your eyes are still your eyes. Or I should say your brain is still your brain. Prob very hard to catch the same typos your brain is accustomed to, that's why a fresh paid of eyes would be better.😄 Safe trip!

So how long do we need to wait to be able to turn that page? 😃😬 Super hyped about the book! Btw, based on your thread I ordered the Fourth Turning is Here yesterday!

I’d say programmers looked for ways to create stateless digital money with cryptography rather than encryption.
exciting news, can't wait to read your book! will there be an option to pre-order through your website or will it be available to general public via amazon?
Lyn, you need to edit this chapter to be Chapter 21, even if you must skip over 20, like buildings with no 13th floor. ☺️ Bon voyage...
Its very similar to video editing: There's no such thing as being "done." You just get to a point where you are sick of trying to make it better and just have to let it go and move on to the next thing 🤣

ask chatGPT to find the typos
My wife proof read a friends book after having been through the publisher’s reviews. She handed over four pages of more issues 😂 Sure you’ll get them all Lyn. Look forward to reading it! Hoping it’ll be out before my holiday in the 3rd week of September? 😉

That's a thick one! About 800 pages / 400k words? I love your writing your style @Lyn Alden, i've noticed you start off with an analogy or an example and slowly get into a difficult topic and help people see that different perspective - its very effective, esp with great context, flow and relevancy. I'd think if the sentence is " in plenty of developing countries" instead of "in many developing countries", its a bit more raw and i love it. Its very authentic style of writing.

Could you use chatgpt to fix typos?
Yes, it's extraordinary how that happens. Typos are like socks - no matter how mindful you are, they slip through/away.
Just spoke to a mate (non bitcoiner) regarding sovereignty. He was explaining to me how we are individually sovereign and it's the State's role to protect that axiom. Over the centuries, it's been bastardised where the government is now sovereign. I then explained having sound money goes a long way to claiming our individual sovereignty. Your one pager came at the perfect time! Just sent it to him.

Looking forward to it Lyn. What’s the page count ?
very suitable to bring a book called "Broken Money" to Egypt. The despair of people with their governments, the military, the fruitless revolution, and how the rulers build useless megacities for themselves far away while Cairo looks like a Blade Runner set was impressive and saddening. Still a super charming city in some spots with wonderful people.

Do you have plans to publish the book in other countries? I'd like to see it in S.Korea too!"
know the feeling! Available for some work if you ever need an experienced copy editor. I edited the Bitcoin Standard, the Fiat Standard, and the Principles of Economics. :)
