What do you make with cottage cheese? #asknostr
I think I want to get into the stuff. Never really tried it.

Never have, never will
But are we missing out?? I suspect we are!
I make my mouth happy.
I just eat it right out of the container.
My wife used to make some kind of breakfast burritos with the stuff. Wasn’t bad. I would rather have ricotta.
I can't with ricotta either
I normally put honey with walnuts on it and call it a day
I get it. Not my favorite either.
Sounds like everyone eats cottage cheese like a yoghurt. I wasn't expecting this at all.
This ☝️☝️
So it's never part of a larger meal?
No, occasionally I may drizzle some honey or eat it with fruit. I've put hot sauce in it before and it kind of tasted like a jalapeño popper 🤷♀️... but mostly straight out of the container.
Toss some jam on it for breakfast
Really??
I think you're all pulling my leg
No no, if you go small curd its like yogurt.
I also recommend jam on vanilla ice cream
I'll try this. Although I have no idea of there will be curd size options lol. I'll get whatever is in lidl
Fruit is good too, i have mixed it in fruit with granola
Oh an low salt too imho
A quart of cottage cheese is a meal. Trust me.
I hadn't given it much thought, but, yes, like yogurt. plain or with fruit sometimes. I also eat sour cream, plain or with fruit too.
gang gang
Well I never. I'll try it tomorrow
Well I use it in all kinds of foods now. Often with eggs, and breakfast bowls. I make dips and other mixes with it. Sometimes I bake with it. If I need some quite protein i just eat it raw, or sprinkle a little salt and pepper on it.
I don't mix my food flavors because im autistic. But many people enjoy mixing fruits or other sweet/sour foods in with it, jams/jelly etc
Green onion, salt and pepper. Or mixed with yogurt and berries.
Just eat it as is, my good man! It's perfection as it is.
I'm going to try it with jam or honey because so many people here have mentioned it. I can't see myself enjoying that tho.
I think you might be the only person who replied with a savoury suggestion, which is what I was expecting
How can these both make sense lol. I'm going to have it as a main and pudding tomorrow
Om I'll try this too:)
You won’t regret it.
I often mix it with chicken, hot sauce, some spices and cheddar cheese. Heat it up in the oven to melt it all and eat it as dip with some corn or tortilla chips.
Yeah I also go for low everything small curd although I don't mind bigger stuff, although it's often more... wet I guess.
i second the pineapple mixin; canned is best. drain the juice first and save it for something else later.
A savoury one: blend it smooth with garlic, lemon juice and herbs, then dip crunchy veg into it.
Ooh
I like it savory and sweet. Savory: scrambled eggs with cottage cheese folded in. Cottage cheese with cherry tomatoes, cucumber, lemon, vinegar, and everything bagel seasoning. Sweet with melon especially or other fruit.
High-protein cottage cheese rides either direction: savory with olive oil, pepper, and tomatoes, or sweet with honey and berries — try both before deciding which camp you're in. Blended smooth, it becomes a cream that quietly replaces ricotta in anything. Buy small tubs first; the curd size and dryness vary wildly between brands and people get loyal fast.
Baked riccota polenta, baked rice pudding, dumplings - either gnocchi style mixed right into the dough, filled like tortellini, or as a roll. Can be sweet or savory. This is Central European cuisine, locals have all kinds of names for these but they don’t translate well.
