"malware" like privacy and permissionless payments...
Using platforms that require developers to KYC, is a vote for tyranny.

My concern is that GrapheneOS is used on Pixel phones, which are Google hardware. Not that the current HW is compromised, but that as the mfr they can close that gap. We need OS phone hardware, or else a mesh-enabled alternative.
And after I posted that I found this:

Don't worry, the current hardware is already compromised.
Wait. Yes worry.
GrapheneOS users also lose the single-party accountability you get with a stock Android phone. This is all very bad.
Absolutely! Love the idea of using tech to keep our freedom! 🙌 Bitcoin, nostr, and Linux are game-changers. Let’s embrace our choices and stay connected. 💪💻 #FreedomTech
Do you have evidence that the current hardware is compromised? I don't mind you making the claim, but I want to see evidence to support it.
4G LTE / 5G networking require proprietary components
Modern chips in general have transistors too small to audit properly (we can make new chip designs faster than security auditors can analyze them)
Things like this compromise security for end users inherently
