Balajis recently bought the main Farcaster client (was kinda like Nostr on Ethereum but not really at all) and wants to model it after Singapore for some god awful reason. His first act as new owner was to ban a bunch of users for stuff they said before he implemented his new rules. I don't know why Balajis likes Singapore so much and I really don't care. No country that executes people on a regular basis for drug offenses deserves my or anyone's respect. It is not a model of anything. The government of Singapore is a disgusting abomination that murders people over having the wrong plant. Alcohol is legal, although regulated in Singapore. Alcohol is very dangerous and leads to many deaths. Yet if you dare to sell a relatively harmless plant, cannabis, the government of Singapore is willing to end your life over it. The most recent execution for cannabis in Singapore was this year. https://deathpenaltyinfo.org/singapore-executes-man-for-cannabis-importation-amid-rising-drug-related-executions

Balaji is just a intel tool. Else he would not pump Mossad coin over Monero.
Singapore is one of the most perfect models for government. You describe it as tyrannical but if you need to get high you can just *walk across the bridge to Malaysia*. It’s not a vast and inescapable prison! IT’s a single city! If your time preference is so nigger tier you can’t take a walk or a cab before doing drugs to have a nice neighborhood without fucking junkie criminals you deserve to be executed with the addicts. Lee Kwan Yew is one of the most visionary leaders of the 20th century. The only one that didn’t fumble his country’s future.

If you say drugs are bad, a lot of people will respond in defense of their liberties... It makes it hard to discuss the negative effect weed has on society. A 2015 study out of Johns Hopkins described it as "basically turning people into niggers".
Over 500 grams of cannabis is where the line sits: under Singapore's Misuse of Drugs Act, trafficking more than 500g carries the mandatory death penalty, written into Section 5 of the law.
